collaboration or else

my husband kinda sorta put me in a corner.....but it was all for love. he owns his own design firm in spokane, nystrom, olson, collins, and asked me to photograph his first residential project. which by the way is amazing. so proud.....anyway, i thought it was too much too soon for me. when it came down to crunch time, even though i clearly said "i'm not your gal" he had me shoot the property. all is well and in the end it was a privilege to photograph his work. its always good to reach out of your comfort zone.....right?!? check it out, don't you want to live there?

catching up

times are busy, i know everyone is feeling it. i have been having a great season of meeting new clients and getting to see how much the ones from the past have grown. i love that part of my job! thanks to all.....

pregnancy in 2007

this mama is due in four weeks, wow! her husband was so great and i saw a very hands-on-dad in his baby's future. he couldn't have been more attentive and helpful during our time together. congratulations melissa and matt, you two are going to be great parents!

elle

elle is becoming quite the young lady, i will never get tired of taking her photo. this spot has been in the corner of my eye for the longest time and yesterday we made a halting screech in the car on our way home. i said "lets take your picture" she said "its been awhile!" sometimes i get wrapped up in my work and let time go by without snapping a few for our own archives.

the boys

these two little guys are two of the cutest out there! it is so fun having them in my life. ronni and i go way back.......early 80's. we knew each other before we eventually ended up collins women. that is spokane for ya and that is the beauty of this place. the boys are great and i love their spark. thx for watching mine ronni, now if i could only get other clients to watch my kids that would make my job a piece of cake!!!!

i visited an old friend last wkend, my traveling pal through europe way back when. so neat to see her children reese and lucas. we've grown up sarah! thanks for friday night, hopefully we will have more! btw, i owe you more photos!!!!

house

one of my many favorite parts of my job is getting invited into people's homes. i am married to a designer/architect and he's rubbed off on me, i appreciate all things surrounding the "house" so to speak. this of course includes all who dwell within and the way everyone inhabits the home. anyway, i am seeing some pretty cool things out there and it is such a pleasure to take photos in places with such character and beauty. this shoot was no exception! but i must say... these children could be anywhere and look adorable.

doll baby

doesn't this child look like a baby doll. amazing! she had the sweetest little face to match her sweet disposition. her older sister must be setting a good example, she was such a good little girl during the photo shoot, she is as sweet as she looks too!

this shoot was a long time coming and i was so excited to finally capture this family! such sweet girls, just like mom. ashley, we worked hard for this one!! it was worth the wait.

belly

there is nothing like the baby belly. every time i shoot a new mama, i just get tingles and my eyes start to water..... every time! this lovely mama to be made it look so good and she had such a peaceful way about her. i'd say it sparked something in me, but i think i have my hands and heart full with 3 already. i'll just enjoy taking the photos! p.s. chrissy , thx for the inspiration.

heather's favorite time

this blog is intended for two groups of people, the lovely parents of the two cuties in the leaves and for my dearest friend heather in sav'h georgia. she loves fall.......period. i think if she could have it her way, and she would make it happen if she could, it would be fall all year round. the funny thing is, she lives in a place that almost skips it entirely not to mention the lady has a few palm trees in her front yard!! herzog family and heather, here is a look of someone or something you love!

again the house is quiet except for thomas and i dancing around to his new favorite song. its great and we would like to share....."young folks" by peter bjorn and john. go check it out on itunes. it gets him gigglin' and movin' every time!

me and t

this weekend has been quiet.......my husband took the girls to a crab festival and i have been solo with thomas. it can't go without saying that i miss them, however, the one on one time with baby has been good. its like we are just cruising at our own pace. this was lunch yesterday.....pb&j's while mama was rockin' out to some good tunes! thomas got a kick out of it!
